Norwegian artist and musician Ingrid Saga has recently returned to Oslo after years abroad; first as a student at Berklee College of Music in Boston, followed by a year of moving between New York, Paris and Los Angeles.

Her experience in jazz, while also being inspired by the American singer-songwriter tradition and Norwegian folk, puts her music in between different genres. Descriptive storytelling, leaping melodies, and surprising harmonic changes make up Saga’s musical landscape. 

 

Her debut album “The Space Between” is scheduled for release on April 12th. Written during her time at Berklee and recorded with friends in late night studio sessions, this collection of songs is a result of pure passion; for music, friendship, learning, and a constant effort of transforming life’s ups and downs into art. In her songwriting, Ingrid Saga explores themes of love and loss, travel, loneliness and hopefulness. With songs produced by 4-times Grammy-winning and 10-times Grammy-nominated producer and bassist Larry Klein, the album came together as a dream collaboration. 

 

They also worked together on the 4-song EP “Serendipity” released in September 2023, written and recorded in Klein’s home studio in LA together with the artist Itai.

 

In addition to the EP, Ingrid Saga has released 4 singles over the past year and is currently playing live shows in Norway.
